In most cases, we retain this information and data so that, for instance, you can return to view prior messages you have sent or easily see your buddy list.

When you update information, we usually keep a backup copy of the prior version for a reasonable period of time to enable reversion to the prior version of that information. We may collect information about your use of products offered through the website, and how you interact with our website, in order to improve it and make it more relevant to today’s ever increasing demands for perfection.

Sports-buddies.com automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, cookie information, and the page you request/land on. We may use some or all of your information for the following general purposes: to customize the user experience, to customize advertising and content you see, to fulfil your requests for products and services, to offer customized features, to improve our services, to contact you, and to conduct research.

User Content

You post user content (see sports-buddies.com Terms and Conditions) on the site at your own risk. Although we have set privacy options that limit access to your pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other users with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. when we have your permission, or where we believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations or suspected violations of our terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.

We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the site. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of user submissions may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other users have copied or stored your user submissions.

When you register, you can create your own profile and determine your own privacy settings by deciding which teams you join and who you allow to be your   buddies on the Find-a-Buddy page, AND my-buddies – once you have agreed to be each other’s buddies. Your name and profile picture thumbnail may be available in all search results across the sports-buddies.com network and may be searchable through third party web-sites with which we and third party search engines, and may be automatically notified to third party tracking websites/weblogs. The fact that your profile has been added or updated, as well as a short extract from the title page of your sports-buddies.com profile, may be automatically notified to third party tracking websites/weblogs

If you choose to use our invitation service to tell a friend about sports-buddies.com, we will ask you for information needed to send the invitation, such as your friend's email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email or instant message inviting him or her to visit AND join the site – as one of your buddies. We may occasionally stores this information to send this one-time invitation, to register a friend connection if your challenge/invitation is accepted, and to track the success of our referral program. Your friend may contact us to request that we remove this information from our database.

Minors

We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone below 16 or senior school age or knowingly allow such persons to register. If you are below 16 or senior school age, please do not attempt to register for sports-buddies.com or send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. No one below senior school age may provide any personal information to or on sports-buddies.com.

In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child below 16 or senior school age without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child below 16 or senior school age, please contact us at admin@sports-buddies.com. We recommend that minors under senior school age ask their parents for permission before sending any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet.
We are currently (March 2010) investigating using C.E.O.P – Child Exploitation and On-line Protection centre, to enable Minors to report DIRECTLY any inappropriate actions towards Minors, using the C.E.O.P link, which will shortly embedded into our website.

Sports-buddies.com may contain links to other web sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any such other web sites. This privacy policy applies solely to the information collected by sports-buddies.com.

Security

We have security measures in place to protect our customer database and access to this database is restricted internally. However, it remains each user's responsibility:
to protect against unauthorised access to your details; to ensure against use by anyone else of the sports-buddies.com service through the machine that member uses while they are "logged on".  to log off or exit from the site when not using it; and to keep his/her password secret.

Remove Details

You may have your registration details removed at any time. To remove yourself, please email us at admin@sports-buddies.com and we will endeavour to remove your details within 24 hours of upon confirmation of receipt of the email.
